Memphis will be traveling again trying to keep its long C-USA winning streak intact on Saturday afternoon. The destination this time around is Hattiesburg, MS, home of HC Larry Eustachy’s Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The hosts are hungry, but possibly not even capable of ending Memphis’ 51 straight wins in C-USA play. See where your betting colleagues are leaning in this game by visiting the BETTING TRENDS page.

Memphis (21-3, 14-8-1 ATS) is in the midst of playing four of six games away from home and this could be one stop filled with subterfuge, which could end the Tigers long conference winning streak. The way Memphis is playing lately, it might be a mute point to say their 51-game C-USA tear could be in jeopardy anywhere, unless all the teams in the Big East decided to leave and join this conference. Returning players from last year’s NCAA finals, Shawn Taggart and Robert Dozier, are finally hitting their shots and the overall defense is starting to resemble last year’s. The Tigers record of 12-3 ATS as a favorite of 10 or more points is becoming easier to understand.

Southern Miss (13-10, 5-12-1 ATS) does have talented players that can go with Memphis; they just often seem to be going their own direction as opposed to playing as a team. Each week a new player is the sharpest shooter for the Golden Eagles, which speaks to a lack of balance. Since everybody wants their shots, Southern Miss ranks 10th in points allowed in the league. They are capable of a magical contest and are 11-4 ATS at home when playing a team with a winning record since 2006-07 campaign.

Southern Miss has fallen four straight times (0-4 ATS), yet are 7-3 ATS at home vs. Memphis.
